Easter Dinner Cake

Ingredients:
white part
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 6 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup sifted cake flour
yellow part
  • 3/4 cup sifted cake flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • powdered sugar
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 2 tblsp lemon juice
  • 1 tblsp cold water
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder

Method:
  1. white part
  2. first of all sift 1/2 cup cake flour and 1/2 cup powdered sugar together. do it three times.
  3. then in a large bowl pour egg whites and beat it till frothy.
  4. add some of the ingredients like cream of tartar, vanilla and salt to it.
  5. again beat the mixture till soft peaks get formed into it.
  6. gradually beat in 1/2 cup granulated sugar. sift a fourth of the flour mixture at a time over top; fold in.
  7. yellow part
  8. next, sift 3/4-cup cake flour and baking powder together. this too, three times.
  9. you need to beat the yolks with juice and water until it gets thick. it would take 5 to 7 minutes.
  10. once again gradually beat in 1/2 cup granulated sugar. sift a fourth of the flour mixture at a time over top; fold in.
  11. you should bake it at 375 degrees f for about 35-40 minutes.
  12. then invert and cool it.
  13. finally you should dust the cake with powdered sugar.
